Sky Sports holds the live UK broadcast rights to every Formula 1 session through the end of 2029. Channel 4 carries an extended-highlights package on free-to-air and simulcasts the British Grand Prix live. F1 TV Pro is the FIA’s direct-to-consumer streaming product with onboards, team radio and timing data.
Sky Sports F1
Sky Sports F1 is the dedicated 24/7 F1 channel and the only place to watch every practice, qualifying and race session live in the UK.
| Access route | Cost |
|---|---|
| NOW Sports Membership | £34.99/month (rolling) |
| Sky Sports add-on with Sky TV | From £25/month |
| Sky Stream | From £29/month |
NOW Sports is the cheapest route for a non-Sky household. The day pass (£14.99/24h) covers a single race weekend if you want the British GP or a marquee event without the monthly commitment.
Channel 4
Channel 4 holds the F1 highlights deal through 2027. Coverage runs as a Sunday-evening highlights package on Channel 4 and on demand via channel4.com (the platform formerly branded All 4). The British Grand Prix airs live on Channel 4 in addition to highlights; this is the only free-to-air live F1 race in the UK each season.
F1 TV Pro
F1 TV Pro is Formula 1’s direct-to-consumer streaming product. In the UK it costs £8.99/month or £64.99/year.
What you get on F1 TV Pro:
- Every live session (practice, qualifying, sprint, race)
- All onboard cameras and team radio
- Live timing and tyre data
- All F2, F3 and F1 Academy support series
What you do not get: the Sky Sports F1 commentary team. The F1 TV Pro feed uses the international Formula 1 commentary, not the David Croft/Martin Brundle Sky pairing.
F1 TV Pro is the cheapest legal way to watch every race live in the UK, provided you can do without the Sky F1 commentary.
Onboard cameras
Live in-car cameras are the headline F1 TV Pro feature. The default Sky broadcast cuts between cars on the director’s instruction; F1 TV Pro lets you pin a driver’s onboard for the full race.
