TNT Sports holds the principal UK rights to the UEFA Champions League through 2027. 186 of the 203 scheduled matches in a typical season run on TNT Sports channels. Amazon Prime Video carries one Tuesday match per week, and the BBC has held a highlights package since the 2024/25 season: the first time UCL highlights have aired free-to-air in the UK since 2009.
Match nights run Tuesday and Wednesday for the league phase, then both nights through the knockout rounds.
TNT Sports
TNT Sports has been the principal home of UCL coverage in the UK since 2015 (originally as BT Sport, rebranded in 2023). Coverage runs across three linear channels (TNT Sports 1, 2 and 3) and on discovery+, which now bundles the full TNT Sports portfolio for streaming.
| Access route | Cost |
|---|---|
| discovery+ Premium | £30.99/month |
| Sky Stream / Sky Q add-on | £18/month with a Sky contract |
| Virgin Media TV add-on | £18/month with a Virgin TV bundle |
| EE mobile / broadband add-on | From £18/month |
The final airs on TNT Sports and also free-to-air, with TNT’s coverage running through discovery+ for streaming-only subscribers.
Amazon Prime Video
Amazon picked up a single Tuesday-night UCL match per week starting in the 2024/25 season: the network’s “top pick” of the Tuesday slate. Coverage is included with a standard Amazon Prime subscription (£8.99/month or £95/year, with student and Prime Lite discounts available).
This is a streaming-only window. There is no linear broadcast on Prime, only the live stream and on-demand replay through Prime Video.
BBC iPlayer
The BBC won a UCL highlights package for the 2024/25 season: the corporation’s first UCL rights since the 2008/09 final. Coverage runs as a Tuesday and Wednesday highlights show on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer.
The final airs in full on BBC One and BBC iPlayer alongside the TNT Sports broadcast. The 2026 final from Budapest will be free-to-air on BBC One.

League phase format
Since 2024/25 the UCL uses a 36-club single league phase replacing the old eight-group format. Each club plays eight matches against eight different opponents (four home, four away). Top eight finishers go directly to the round of 16; teams ranked 9 to 24 play a two-leg knockout playoff. Coverage on TNT Sports follows the same Tuesday/Wednesday rhythm as the old group stage.
Quick answers
- Cheapest way to watch every UCL match? discovery+ Premium at £30.99/month. There is no cheaper legal route for the full TNT Sports slate.
- Can I watch any UCL match free? Yes: the final on BBC One, plus highlights on BBC iPlayer twice a week.
- Is the UCL on Sky? No. Sky Sports does not hold UCL rights in the UK. The Sky Sports add-on for TNT Sports gives you TNT’s coverage through a Sky subscription, but the channel itself is TNT.
- What about the Europa League? Also on TNT Sports.
